Martial Arts

Japan has many forms of martial arts that originated there; you can find many of them performed here at Arizona Matsuri.

 

From the well-known martial arts like Karate, Aikido, and Judo to the lesser-known martial arts like Jodo (uses short wooden staffs), Kyudo (uses archery), and Ryushinkan (uses katana [swords], wakizashi [short swords], and tanto [daggers]).

 

Travel through time as you watch these groups perform their practiced skills that have been passed down generation to generation. Be encouraged to ask more about these martial arts and ask the groups about joining their dojo and if the martial art would be right for you!
